Default Gauge Cluster Problem

I had to replace my gauge cluster and my new one does not light up when i turn my head lights on and they only light up when i arm and disarm my alarm. Its only the lights that light up the actual gauge faces that aren't working correctly, so when i'm driving at night i cant see any of my gauges. I have a 98' DX. I never had any problems with it before and the fuses are all fine so i'm stumped as to what is wrong. Any helpl would be great.

thanks.

Do your dash lights work too?

the dash lights and climate control lights are the same deal, they're only lighting up when i arm and disarm the alarm.
I tried disconnecting the alarm but nothing changed. The gauge lights, and the climate control dont turn on when i switch my headlights on though

You have a bad dimmer switch. Replace it.
