at each fill-up, reset your trip odometer. next fill up divide total miles by gallons used to fill it up. i do this at every fill up to keep record of my driving.

Haha, that is the way I keep track of my mpg as well. To be honest, I don't see a better way of tracking your mpg.

only better way, is to WRITE IT DOWN so you can graph it. And then compare it with maintenance/oil changes, as well as diferent octane gas, as well as WEATHER (seasons - summer/winter)

Hopefully you have stock size (or close to) tires/wheels. Otherwise, it'll be thrown off and you'll have to calculate it differently. Mine's close enough for me to not care.
