Default Future plans - H-T members i need opinons

Just picked up a clean 95 EX coupe

Option #1 - turbo a d-series (since d-series engines are so damn cheap)

Option #2 - H22

and dont even bother to say get a b-series cause i wanna do something different from my other cars

Just give me ur opinons

Turbo D all day...its cheap and parts are readily available NTM you make more power AND torque than the h22 on mild boost .

Yo I think you should go turbo too. Something about a Turbo D is so appealing to me. Its ghetto love?

hahahahah turbo it. easiest and probably cheapest option. i slapped a t25 on my d15 running 12psi. works great except for the stock fuel system. parts are coming thou. they are just at a friends 30 minutes away.

Well, think of it this way.... if you overboost and blow the engine... it won't be that expensive to replace it.

What are your other cars? Are they boosted, or N/A?

Ah, by your first post when you said completely different from your other cars, I thought you meant you had others.

If you've already had an N/A car, I'd say go boost. Mix it up, see what you like the best.

BOOST IT! H22 will cost you more in long run...motor mounts, install, ECU for OBDII...wait..we are talking OBD2 H22 right? anywho...i questioned the same setup as i also have a 95 coupe ex, but you'll need diff suspension cause motor weighs more i believe(duh)the H in the end running and installed professionally will run you about 5-6 grand i think. Don't flame me if that number is out of whack, but it's for motor, install of the motor, ecu adaptation(OBDII-OBDI) if needed, and a new suspension...I'm going turbo on the 24th wish me luck. Drag Gen III on a d16z6

Yes, your numbers are far off. And no, you don't need a different suspension because it weighs more. It's only 35lbs more than a B series.

Turbo kits run you anywhere from 2500+. H series costs about the same. My friend would install one for me for around 400 bucks. Don't forget maintenace costs on the turbo either. Also tune and dyno.

boost is better and if you get the h22 youll get bored and wanna boost anyway, just boost the d or save the money from the H duece deuce and build a d series monster

boost for sure just think about it h22+5k=220 hp D+1500-2000= 230hp on 12 psi if u blow the motor which u shouldnt cause there good for about 250hp on stock bottom end but if u do you can get them all day for $300 maybe even $200 or cheaper. ive seen some getto turbo setup ons 92-95 ex run 13.9s so go for it man...

Lets roughly say that both options would cost around the same. Boost the D and you're numbers are around the stock H. Then what?...you're at a wall unless you wanna complate build and up the boost. OR...go H and have PLENTY of headroom for HP in the future.

just my$.02

yea just boost the D....for the cost of a H22 swap you could build the D up real good.

And then you forgot, there's the cost of the turbo as well...

Yes, because building your SOHC, and THEN boosting it definatley costs the same as an H-swap.. [/sarcasm]

go with the vitara pistons..and get some good rods..i think a guy here on ht sells them...user name is like fjht or something along that line..he's from puerto rico...it's about 120 shipped with hastings rings...search for it also..he has made some impressive numbers on a dx 1.6 plus they are cheap so if you blow them..order another set....i've heard they can handle alot boost
