Fuse for radio?
My head unit ceased functioning yesterday. I pulled it and everything is connected fine (aftermarket) I was just listening and it kind of flashed twice real quick and went poof.
I was thinking it might be the fuse? As I hear these cars have issues with this. I already upgraded the size of the fuse (stereo place did it) just curious if anyone can tell me where I can find the fuse and what to replace it with to eliminate it as a factor?

most of the time there is a fuse on the back of the head unit check that or else take out your head unit and connect the yellow wire to the battery and black to ground and if it turns on then your head unit is fine, you probably blew a fuse check the fuse box in the (engine bay) its a 7.5 i had the extact same problem just check that see if its bown, more then likely it is.

Re: Fuse for radio? (ThinkRevolution)
Ok, I finally had time yesterday to go check this out.
In the fuse box @ engine bay - there is no "radio" fuse. The only 7.5 there is one that says "Reserve" or something? It's in the back middle.
Its a red fuse. I remember the guy who did my stereo saying that he had to put a bigger fuse in or something becuase of an issue with honda stock fuses - so how can I know for sure?

Not if there's nothing wrong with it.
If there's no voltage spike you can hardwire the damn thing and it'd work 100%.
Fuses are just safety nets so you don't create an infinite ampere ground.
Though never the less, don't use higher than the recommended fuse, if you need it, it means something is wrong.
EDIT:
PS: Do you detach the face plate?
I've seen on numerous occasions where the face plate wasn't seated 100% b/c pple take it on and off over time every time they park (like it's going to matter) and then it not make a good connection after that.

Re: (ThinkRevolution)
oops.
I tried to replace the fuse - but the cover for my fuse box is gone (the one by the clutch pedal correct?) Anyone give me an idea which one it is down there? Kind of shooting blind.

Guy above said its number 28 and if you look closely the fuse box is number right around where the fuse is actually (at least on mine it is). anyway should be in the middle row near the middle i believe.

Re: (ThinkRevolution)
Ok so I went out there - numbers apprx 1-12 on the bottom row and 12-24 on the top row - no 28 in the 2 horizontal columns (ridiculously hard to see, but like house numbers - predictable)
Is there a fuse box diagram or picture somewhere? This sucks!

Re: Fuse for radio? (isedawishy)
it's actually fuse number 23 if anyone should happen across this thread. There is no fuse 28.
Replaced with two seperate fuses, wasn't it.

what kind of car is this?
I can get a pic of mine if it's a 6th gen... also did you check the fuse under the hood?
by the way here's a link that has both fuse diagrams, under the hood and under the dash.... check to see if your dash one is blown and then let us know whats up
