first off here is the link to the other thread i had goin
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=749582
ok- went back to the car tonight. checked for spark and each cylinder sparks. fuel pump comes on(damn walbros are loud ) and fuel is getting to the cylinders cause its all over the plugs and smells too. a few people suggest that it was my ignitor/coil in the dizzy. my question is would it still spark if these were bad??? my 3 possiblities for why my car aint working was main relay,ignitor,coil- and now it almost seems to me that they are all working properly im tryin to find someone i know wit the same motor so i can borrow dizzy's, but its not working so well. please help me its been almost a month since this **** went down

I'm assuming you've tried starting off of another battery? Sometimes if only one cell in the battery goes bad the car won't start (even off of a jump) but the electronics will work. If you have checked that check your grounds and fuses both under the hood and under the dash...

pretty sure cam timing is set, but not sure about ignition timing- maybe the rotor slipped. im def gonna check that out later-

Re: fuel + spark = still not starting + me being confused (blackeg)
the rotor won't "slip".
And even if the ignitor is bad, it will still spark...just very weak.
Look for a blue spark, you don't want a orange/red spark, as that is weak.
Distributor location won't effect the car from running if the cam timing is correct.

Something similar happened to a friend of mine, turned out that the rotor inside the dizzy had fallen off, put it back on and the car ran like a champ!

It was more than likely you ignitor that went out, and those are really easy to fix, so don't discard your dizzy quite yet!

i called my local honda dealer yesterday just checkin to see how much parts were- and they told me 109+tax for just the ignitor . good think majestic has them on the website for 30 dollars cheaper. Emerika- i think the spark might have been orangish. i was in the car and i had a friend check it, but i think it might been orange(not hot enough?). so ill look for that today.

Re: fuel + spark = still not starting + me being confused (92B20GSR)
went back today for a little. tried new plugs/wires- no luck. checked it for spark again, and it seems to be very weak, slightly sparratic and orangeish almost yellow. would a 'weak spark' be caused by the ignitor or the ignition coil??

i am very aware of this. i just prefer a new distributor since the one that came with the motor is about 10 year old

replace it... that's about all

It could be one of those, I suppose... test them. If it's not one of those then check all your grounds... it sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere since you are getting some spark

Re: fuel + spark = still not starting + me being confused (FrostySol)

Re: fuel + spark = still not starting + me being confused (blackeg)
i have had this problem twice. the first time it would just crank over, had spark but wouldnt start. replaced the distributor. ok now the second time same distributor, the car still wouldn't turn over but would make quiet back fires. the problem ended up being that the rotor inside came lose and the screw holding it loosened up and fell off so check all that. in your case i would just replace distributor. cost me $170 for a new one at auto zone

you try a new distributor cap? if it has a crack it won't send all the spark

damn, you bought a new ICM and coil? I'd be pretty pissed if my car didn't start after buying those. Should've run the tests on them to make sure they were bad before buying new ones... oh well, yeah, check your cap and rotor and grounds and fuses if you haven't already
