Default FUEL REGULATOR

OK, let me refraze my ? form eariler. i have a 94 civic ex w/z6 motor. it has header, cat converter(high flow),cat back xhaust, cia, shunk 2 chip. my header is turning blue which means that it isnt getting enough fuel. would a fuel regulator fix this problem, and does anyone have one of the b&m comandflo regulators that can comment on how they work.

Header turning blue is not always an indication of a lean running engine. I take it you have a SS header?

B&M make a decent FPR, however many people have had failures, I personaly use a AEM FPR, it gives great results, and easy to tune.

I would recommend pulling your spark plugs, are they white, then yes, engine might be running a little lean, esp. with all the bolt mods you have.

my plugs are never white, most of the time they are black to be honest. the engine does burn alittle oil, but i dont think that would trun a header blue though would it. as for the header type, it is a cheap obx racing sports header.

Yeah, I would assume your engine is running a little lean, however if your burning oil then I would not put any more money into the engine until you replace the short block.

Damn, I paid over $140 for my FPR, but I needed it to get my car to run so it was a spur of the moment thing.

I don't think your header turning blue is an indication of your car running lean. It is just the way SS reacts to heat, as with any SS part it will discolor. Based on what you have said that your plugs are black, in fact they might be running a little rich.

A FPR would indeed help, in your case, lean out your mixture. I don't think you need to get a new block, why waste the money when you don't really need it, in my opinion and my $0.02.
