fuel filter / ignition cables... how often?
i have a 98 hatch, i was looking through my owners manual and didnt seem to find any maintenance info on how often to replace the fuel filter and the ignition cables, also the cap and rotor... does anyone know if it is even necessary on a completely stock car? i changed my spark plugs every 30000 miles.
i mean, i know it should be standard maintanance, but i find it woerd that its not mentioned in the owners manual.
just wondering what you guys think on this issue.

what do you mean section for the 98s. why would they be any different from the 96, 97, 99 and 00s?

Basically, it's known now that you change spark plugs every 30,000 miles if you car uses copper plugs and every 100,000 miles if your car uses platinum or iridium plugs. Spark plug wires, cap, and rotor are usually changed every 100,000 miles, but the Hayne's manual says to check, and if needed, to replace the every 30,000. Fuel filter is usually every 50,000 or so.
