im going to use the shops OBD 2 reader today to check and clear the codes and then ill see how it goes.
One thing is last night i checked under the hood and my VTEC Selinoid wasnt connected, then i connected it up but i did not clear the ECU. could this be a reason?

Re: (pumpkyn)
My car did this. It ended being the ignition coil in the distributor was going out. So anytime I would put any load on it (vtec) it would act like the fuel cut off was kicking in or it would completely die.

+1 for limp mode. Get a cat in there and you can wire up something to "trick" the ecu into thinking the ftps is working. http://technet.ff-squad.com/code91.htm <- this site tells you how to wire the thing. Or, just convert to OBD1

K, got it checked again and i am getting P1259 So i guess ill clean out the VTEC Silenoid first, becasue before the engine went down we used some thick thick oil to help keep the car from smoking.

cleaned out the solenoid and nothing, and since i did a mini me i changed teh ground of the oil pressure switch and now i can rev all the way, but no VTEC now. Tomorrow i am going to check the solenoid itself so see if it is even working
