Front camber kit removal

Default Front camber kit removal

I have a 96 civic that came with camber kits and now i want to remove them... i am having trouble removing the upper ball joint... how do u get this done without tearing up the boot?

no one can give me insight... i looked on the faqs already... they only show how to remove the lower balljoint but not the upper balljoint

I just loosen the nut to the point it's flush with the bolt and hit it with a hammer.

no, this is absolutely incorrect. doing it this way will damage the castle nut and possibly the threading.

losen up the castle nut on the ball joint. then hit the upper part of the spindle with a hammer. this will lossen it up (if it doesn't seperate with the hammer). then take a ball joint seperator or fork and pop it out.

all u gotta do is loosen and take out the castle nut and hammer the control arm out with a rubber hammer. It'll pop rite out. And even if you tear the boot their only a few bucks at honda. Besides it wont be a bad idea to replace them
