Frequent Headlight Burn Out (low beam)
On our 96 Civic EX it seems like that headlights are constantly burning out, the low beam. Obviously it gets used more than the high beam so it would burn out faster. I asked my wife how often she uses her lights and he use is normal only when need so she isn't driving around in broad daylight with the low beams on.
There are Silverstars in there and I have replaced a at least one set of bulbs if not two in 2007. My concern grows because I have 2 CRX's (1 DD and the other track *****) and a F250 all with Silverstars and I am going on 2 years with no bulbs burnt out in either of those three vehicles.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Re: Frequent Headlight Burn Out (CRX Toad)
it happened to me a lot. and i would just replace the bulbs thinking it would just go away, but it ends up blowing again and again, what i found out about mines was that there was cut in the wire, and instead of blowing the fuse, it blew the low beam off..weird, but after i taped it i haven't gotten a blown light..also if you were to hit a pot hole ora curb hard enough it might break the low beam coil..it has happen to my bro's ek, on more than one occasion, but i think its because the car is low to the ground, and absorbs more impact when lowered. check wiring to see if anything is cut or frayed maybe. those were just some of my experiences, hope this helps you out a bit.

Haven't checked yet, but I will get the volt meter out and find out. It just annoys me.
I will look over the wiring just to make sure.

For a comparison, I have a '98 EX coupe that had Silverstars for two years with no blow outs. I drive with mine on all day too (had too many close calls with people not seeing my bright red car).

Re: (NOFX)
are you sure its the bulbs burning out, unplug the socket from the bulb and look at the contacts on the socket and the plastic molded around them, check for a pin burned or the plastic around it burned if this is the case, the contact failed,a nd instead of the the bulb burning out, when you run it it gets hot until it burns the contacts up again

Did you ever check the voltage?
I know personally, that a bad voltage regulator will cause bulbs to burn out fast, due to the increased current. Happened to my ED6 about a year ago - caused the battery to blow up (well...almost), all the bulbs to blow, and kill the blower resistor all within a week.
I know your situation is over a longer time frame, but the voltage may be a little higher, say a little over 16 volts
