I bought an ebay fog kit for my '00 and the switch wont fit in the lower dash cover, plus the switch wont stay on. I bought a new one from honda and the pins didnt match. What car is this switch from?

Re: fog light switch (tmramsburg)
It looks like your Switch (the pictured one) doesn't have the metal tabs that help secure it in place.

(don't you love how the Switch is UPSIDE DOWN???!!! JDM, YO!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAH)
Here's a pic of the OEM Connector for the Switch:

Here's a pic of the Harness Connector for the Switch:

Here's a pic of the Wires leading to the Harness Connector for the Switch:

Your Switch has 5 Terminals, just like the OEM Switch. If you're looking for OEM functionality, then you'll need to hook up 3 wires to it. They look to be 18AWG, with the following colors: Black w/Silver dots, Red w/White stripe & Silver dots, and Red w/Yellow stripe & Silver dots.
These Wires lead to a 5-point Junction, and I don't want to take it apart to find out what happens from there. There are a couple of things I notice regarding The Switch Harness ( 08V31-S01-10107 , http://slhondaparts.com/search...10107 )...
-- The Black w/Silver dot Wire is connected to the Ground Terminal, Switch Connector, and Relay Connector. It seems to be a common ground for the Relay and Switch, as there's continuity between all 3 ends of the Black Wire.
-- The Red w/White stripe & Silver dots is connected to the Switch Connector, the Relay Connector, and an In-Line Fuse (15A) with a larger gauge Red/White Wire. This larger gauge Wire leads to the two white Connectors that go near the Steering Column (for the Headlights and such).
-- The Red w/Yellow stripe & Silver dots is connected to the Switch Connector and the Relay Connector.
Bust out yer MultiMeter...
With the Switch Open (Unpressed): Should have continuity between the Black and Red/Yellow Wire. All other connections between Terminals should be "dead".
With the Switch Closed (Pressed): Should have continuity between the Black and Red/Yellow Wire (just like the above); Should have continuuity between the Black and Red/White Wire; Should have continuity between the Red/Yellow Wire and Red/White Wire.
After doing this, you'll know the 3 Terminals to which you need to connect your Wires. The Terminal that "achieves" continuity when the Switch is Closed is the one to which you'll connect the Red/White Wire (on the OEM Switch Harness). I'm not 100% sure, but the polarity of the other two shouldn't matter (as long as the other ends are "switched" as well). Hopefully, Eran will correct me if I'm wrong here...
Hope this helps!

Here's a post I made on another forum awhile back about different fog light switches. I have photos of two of the three common switches.

The two foglight kits PasswordJDM sells for the '96-'98 Civic are the yellow square and the yellow rounds. The underlined text are links btw. Both of those kits are DEPO kits.
Esuse - 4 pin
DEPO - 6 pin
OEM - 8 pin pattern, but only 5 pin
Here are the DEPO and OEM Honda foglight switches next to each other. (Neither is for sale, sorry.)

That's an OEM switch that my boyfrind got for free from a friend before his friend sold his car (which didn't have foglights anyway).
It's actually OEM dark gray, which has been discontinued for awhile now.
USDM OEM kits never came with a black switch if I remember correctly.
