Fog Light Question?
I have a 99 Civic with factory fog lights. I was wondering how to rewire them so they can be on without the headlights being on? I have already searched and have not come up with anything.

Today I did a DIY Yellow fogs for my 99 civic. Well I cleaned them off with alcohal then with water. I started to paint them and messed up so I took the paint off with nail polish remover then cleaned it off with water again but I kinda got a lot of water on them. Well when they were done and I hooked them back up and turned them on only one worked??? Do you think water could have got in it somehow and blown the bulb? Could there be some paint on the connector? I also rewired a sidemarker today and its on the same side that the fog light is not working, Is that just a coincedence(sp?) What would that have done? What can I do to fix it? All Info welcome.

Re: Fog Light Question? (dawrenn)
Easiest way IMO is to check the bulb. Can be done without removing the bumper by removing the foglight bezel and loosening the four screws that hold the lamp assembly. Then take out the lamp assembly and remove the rear cover bolts. Should take you 5-6 minutes to determine whether it's the bulb or wiring.
BTW, the housing's pretty airtight. I'm guessing it's one of the wires. Hope that helps.

Thats what I thought, I would think that water could not get in it. The only thing I am guessing is that the bulb blew out somehow or there is paint on the connector.
Could I have messed something up from wiring the sidemarker? The fog light is the only light that does not come on.

Re: Fog Light Question? (dawrenn)
For me it was my ground on my right fog light. I'd say check the bulb first because it's easy to do and will cut your work in half. The wires will be exposed and easy to test from there, or the bulb (H3) will simply be replaced. Good luck and let us know what happened....
