I personally like the OEM style CF hood. But get what you want. I think the fiberglass isn't as rigid as CF. I know that fiberglass bumpers suck (from experience) so I would stay away from fiberglass myself. But like I said, you should get what you want

MOST "carbon fiber" hoods are just carbon fiber OVERLAY on a fiberglass shell. So, in terms of rigidity, they will be the same.

I have a oem style hood. It's nice. Do something different, go Monster all the way.

Mugen_Power, you are absolutely correct, HOWEVER, 98% of the time, somebody will NOT buy an "authentic" CF hood.

Edit: Take the .org.jpg off of the end when linking pics from Imagestation.
IMO unpainted carbon fiber looks like ***.

I'd have to disagree. I think light colored cars (i.e white, grey) look badass with a black carbon fiber hood. As long as you have black wheels or black lip and side skirts.

I know my friend payed about $350 (eBay) for his and it just a carbon fiber overlay on a fiberglass frame (but he did not know this like many others who bought these style cf hoods). The thing is still is VERY light, and seems to be just a strong. I am planning on getting one over the summer, just for looks though, I dont go fast engough where I need if for the waight reduction.

what most people don't know is that fiberglass is a better material for body parts, in terms of costs, resin retention and flexibility.

I'd have to agree with this statement. Nobody on here would be so quick to give props if it was just a painted black hood (Which is what that looks like to me). That wouldn't be balla enough.

It's the usual HT double standard...

its all opinion, I dont like fiberglass, yet I do like CF. Why?? I guess its just the look. CF doesnt always look good, but most of the time it does.

Don't use CF for show, use it for weight loss.

use it for whatever the hell you want to. I personally would only buy a CF hood if I were to buy one, and it would be for looks since the weight is not that much of a factor.

peaces.

$320 is BS, dont even try finding out more..sprayed on for sure....well you can tell the diff...drive to the place where they got it..compare your stock with their cF...cf should be half as light as the stock
