i am a big fan of drivin fast, and until now delt strictly with dom. cars. now i find im in new territory. i'm looking to build an import and find myself lost. i have always found del sols cool and unique, atleast in ny. so i went and bought a 94 del sol with some ideas. im looking to make a semi economical build and try to stay NA if possible.

anyway my question i've looked into the tipical b16 b18 swaps well i always have to be diff. so i was thinking f20? maybe, but i'm not sure what would be involved, and how much different is it from a b20 swap. axels, mounts, wiring, ect. all and any info would be greatly appreciated? thanks a true import noobie

p.s. my boys hate me right now they drive domestic and i'd love to drop'em on the street when i'm done. please help

Which Del Sol did you get? VTEC, S or Si ?

If it's the Si, then you have a D16Z6 motor.

The D16Z6 is great to build for a turbo setup. You can reliably get about 300HP from the motor when it's built correctly which is good for low 13s in the 1/4 mile. This is more than enough to smoke Mustangs, Magnums, Chargers, Camaros, etc.

(A D16Y8 is nearly identical to the D16Z6)

one thing first. this guy is saying he wants to do something different and do an f20 swap. and he asked about doing an f20 swap. not about turboing his d series. i just hate it when someone asks a question and nobody wants to answer, they just want go tell you what they think you should do, instead of giving technical help, this is a tech forum, and people get flamed for asking opinions instead of tech questions, but when someone does, they get opinions and no technical info.

...that being said an f20 is probably not much different from an h22 swap, litte more involved than a b series swap, but i think it'd be cool, definatly different. try looking up h22 swaps and go from there

thanks man will do on the h22 swap lookup but im thinking i wil need custom axels, or do you know if there are any stock ones i can use?

also any wiring info would be great, and would it be more like the b20 or h22?

h and f series motors have a lot in common
