a/f gauge question

a/f gauge question
i just installed an a/f gauge in 99 dx coupe and it goes crazy it would not stay in one place niether rich or lean this only happens when the car is moving, did i hook it up wrong or thats how its supposed to be help a brother out thanks.

arnt air/fuel guages pretty much worthless unless your at WOT or have a wideband? i have one and mine jumps around too and my motor and ecu are obd1

thats true, the autometer is not nearly as accurate as a wideband, but ever since i converted to a socketed obdI ecu with a mugen program and a custom program the reading is 99% more accurate from when i had the stock obdII ecu.. this is true because the fuel curves are way rich compared to stock readings and my gauge pretty much reads rich as i am daily driving..

one more note on this subject, 'bout 2 months ago my gauge was acting up jumping all around as if i was running my stock ecu again, but i came to find out that the T-tapped wire to the o2 sensor was loose, so i reconnected it and my gauge readings went back to normal..
