Is external coil legal in Cali
Is external coil legal in Cali.
I have an H22a 93 civic hatch ~ with msd Blaster external coil
H22a came with internal coil orignally .
I have the sticker eo exempt # but that may have been for the distributor cap.
I would put the old coil in but I seem to have mislplaced it so Im asking ~
Will I pass an inspector when baring my car?

yea you can pass inspection.
but some inspection places are a$$es and hate fixed up civics, and they wont pass you cuz of that. but its legit if it has a number on it. kinda like a carb number

go factory stuff, test, and swap the good stuff back in. Why run an external coil? I always thought that modern ignition systems were really good until the engine is under boost, higher compression, or otherwise heavily modified.

ya thats a nice thought but I still can't find the coil. I'll have to look harder. Whatever if I find it I'll throw it in otherwise I'll just find out come smog day.
