Exhaust question...
Ok, I always see the mufflers that are positioned in an upwards position. First, is there any real benefit to this. Second, how do you position it like this?

Re: Exhaust question... (soursane)
i'm assuming you mean Fireball style mounting.if you're actually going for the straightest exhaust possible,it will probably run under the gas tank and rear subframe.you'll then have to turn it up some to tuck it up against the bumper.
99.9% of the exhausts you see turned up are NOT done so for this reason.usually it's done to get that JDM blang, and on a stock style exhaust is probably more restrictive than just having the exhaust go over the LCA,then straight out.
if you want this look,go to some backwoods city, and find a muffler shop who's installer is inbred and cross-eyed.that should allow for an install that is nowhere near straight.
in case you can't tell,i'm not big on that style exhaust.as i said,it just adds another bend in a regular style exhaust that probably adds restriction,it shows off even more of your fartcan muffler to attract more attention from cops, and i'm pretty sure everybody who sees it says "who the hell put that guy's muffler on crooked?!" instead of "damn son!check out that guy's crazy *** JDM exhaust!Fireballz Yo!".
if it lends itself to being functional,go for it.but, just keep in mind that on a street car,an exhaust that goes under the LCA is going to probably be a clearence issue and not worth the effort for the small increase in flow.
