Exhaust problem!

Exhaust problem!
Hi!
Today I heard the strange noise coming from under the hood. When I checed it out I saw that my exhaust manifold broke. I have D16Y7 and I have stock exhaust which has very thin pipes and cat attached to the mani. The cave goes from the sensor all around 3rd pipe.
My question is: if I buy some performance exhaust where will I put the sensor since it has very short wires and if I decide not to plug the sensor in, what can happen? Will my car have any problems running? Please help cos I'm inthe corner here with nowhere to go...

Re: Exhaust problem! (KKVTi)
You can get replacement manifolds from places like manchester.com or hparts.com, and retain all the stock locations for the cat and sensor(s).
If you get a "performance" exhaust, they usually come with the wire to extend to the new sensor location if they provide one. Be advised that the sensor may not work as well being located further downstream. The heat will not be as high and the exhaust it monitors will arrive later than the stock location.
It is strongly advised you do not run without the O2 sensor. Your engine may not run at the optimal point of performance. Fuel economy could suffer as well. You would most likely get a CEL with the O2 sensor disconnected, too.

Re: Exhaust problem! (Perfectionist)
Thanks!
I managed to repair the manifold. It took me 5 hours to repair it and for now it is fine until I get some money to order some performance manifold.
