If you want it to be quiet most of the time, but sound aggressive when you get on it go with the twin loop. From what I understand the twinloop runs the exhaust through the muffler once, routes it to the back again through a pipe, and then runs the exhaust through the muffler again. The n1 will be louder through the entire rpm range. I have an n1 style on mine and it's droning at highway speeds and it's loud enough to be annoying, and that's with an 18" resonator. It will obviously flow better than the twin loop, but not by a real noticeable amount. 2.25" will be fine if you keep it all motor and relatively stock, but if you're going turbo or all out with an all motor build I'd suggest bigger piping. I plan to replace mine with a twin loop this spring.

Edit: I have 2.25" piping on mine also. If the SD in your location is South Dakota and you live in the Sioux Falls area I'll let you hear my exhaust in person if you want. I think i remember your screen name from SFR. PM me if you want.

is the n1 going to be better because its less free flowing? how is the twin loop better if it doesnt flow as well as another muffler?
