Excessive cranking
I have a 2000 civic DX d16y7 5spd. What would cause it to randomly crank longer before it starts. Doesnt happen often, usually when i drive for a while, park it, and start it up after a few hrs of it sitting.

Re: Excessive cranking
Define "longer".
Then read this thread with the same issue.

Re: Excessive cranking
how much fuel is in the tank?? just sayin...
i have an extended crank when my fuel tank is low/close to empty and has been sitting for a very long time. turns on after second attempt. as soon as i put fuel, extended crank goes away. i usually wait until i hear the relay click when the key is turned on before cranking to prime fuel pump. i'm new to the honda world and seems like its not a issue what i'm experiencing so it doesn't bother me.
