Re: EX tranny (jjaskula1)
yes it is really worth it, the difference is like night and day. the cx tranny gears are sooooo long, the ex are shorter. the ex tranny will make your car faster and more fun to drive

Now, I recently bought a JDM s20 tranny. Knowing nothing about Japanese trannies, is this a good tranny? What kind of car did it come of off?
(Sorry to hijack).

Wow you straight up bought a tranny not knowing what it is and what motor it came from?

... That's not what I said it all, it came from a d15 VTEC over in Japan. My question is that, is the gearing similar to an EX/DX/LX/CX/VX tranny over here.

I didn't buy it because it was "JDM". I bought because I got it with 20k-30k miles, with a 1 year warranty for 200 dollars. Shopping around for cheap parts owns you n00b.

You just worded it in a bad way. But the jdm d15b vtec tranny does come with an optional LSD so you could very well have one. The gearing is like the z6 and y8 trannies.
