yes it is really worth it, the difference is like night and day. the cx tranny gears are sooooo long, the ex are shorter. the ex tranny will make your car faster and more fun to drive

Now, I recently bought a JDM s20 tranny. Knowing nothing about Japanese trannies, is this a good tranny? What kind of car did it come of off?

(Sorry to hijack).

... That's not what I said it all, it came from a d15 VTEC over in Japan. My question is that, is the gearing similar to an EX/DX/LX/CX/VX tranny over here.

I didn't buy it because it was "JDM". I bought because I got it with 20k-30k miles, with a 1 year warranty for 200 dollars. Shopping around for cheap parts owns you n00b.

You just worded it in a bad way. But the jdm d15b vtec tranny does come with an optional LSD so you could very well have one. The gearing is like the z6 and y8 trannies.

And if I have to tear the tranny apart to see if it has an LSD. How will I know if it has one, how will it drive?

Its pretty simple to find out it usually has LSD stamped on the housing not hard to miss. since you got it for $200 I dont think you got it. I have one to without LSD for $250. You getting it for $200 is a steal. Were did you get it from?

A local importer, I was surprised myself. Not only is 200 a good price, I also got a 1 year warranty.

Well I got mine from HMO with only the Start up warranty. So you got a deal. But so far the tranny has been nothing but fun, compared to the CX tranny I had.
