Default Everything to know about Turbo's

I'm not sure if my exact question has been covered but this is what I'm wondering. I am going to turbo my D-series over the winter, and I've read a lot about installing them. But even with that I need to know more. The things I dont know are like how they actually perform. When they kick in, how to control them. I dont know any of that. I dont know what boost controllers actually do, and also things like VAFC's(heard of them, just dont know what they are) and also such things as PSI and what the best for my car would be. I have a lot to ask its just hard to put into words. What would be my best approach to learning about turbos, is there a book? Or a good website? I just need input from you guys. Thanks

there is a book that i read that has like 10 pages of turbo stuff. it's called honda and acura performance by mike kojima. that's how i learned about turbo kits and all of that stuff. also, the search button on this board is very helpful. it is your friend.

on that book, it has more stuff about b series motors than d series.

You spelled "turbos" wrong in your title. No touching expensive parts for you.

read up in the forced induction forum.
also read some mags like turbo and sport compact. they will not teach you everything but are a good source for more information for the beginner looking for basic info

Try going to http://www.howstuffworks.com, and under the auto section, click on turbos, and read through that. You will understand how they work, and PSI, and all that other stuff. Just mentioned it since nobody else has...
