ET's for 99 Si with Greddy turbo w/intercooler?
My friend just had a Greddy turbo kit with the larger Greddy intercooler put in his 1999 Civic Si. He says, running at 9 pounds of boost, it will run 12's, I think he'll run high 13's on a GOOD day. He has a couple hundred pounds of stereo equipment in the trunk, but does have a good aftermarket clutch. He's also only running street tires on 17's. What should he expect to run?

I dont think there is anyway he is going to run close to 12s. That sounds to me like he would run like 13.8-14.8 something around there. Tell him to up the boost, but on some 15s with some better tires, and loose the stereo.. he doesnt need to bump while he is at the strip..

dude, are you stoned or something? what two different things did I say? 1999...Civic...Si...pretty straightforward. Let's see, what engine comes in a 1999...Civic...Si?
But anyway...yeah dude, I didn't think he'd have a prayer of touching 12's either. Even if he lost the stereo setup. He can't boost any higher safely right now, his engine is stock internally.

first you said 99 si, and then you said something about a hatch. i think that's what confused him.
anyway, only one way to find out. tell him to hit the track.

Re: (spoonedcivicG4)
Me mate's never even been to the track before . He says he's had "a few guys" drive/ride in his car and they seem to think its going to run 12's. But like I said, I think with an excellent launch and ideal weather conditions (maybe a stiff breeze coming up behind him, lol), he MIGHT break into the 13's (if he's actually running 9 psi).

I say 15's. Anyone who thinks his 14 second car is gonna run 12's knows nothing about racing so I think he'll be running low 15's with a 2.9 60ft. With a decent driver mid 14's i'd say.

I doubt your friend has a couple hundred pounds worth of stereo system in his trunk. He can hit low 13s. Not like a system is going to add two seconds on his e.t.

"I doubt your friend has a couple hundred pounds worth of stereo system in his trunk."
Really, so you've seen his car? You live in Texas and I don't know anyone who can see that far. Trust me, his system is crazy! 4 amps, 3 12 inch subs, amp racks with metal brackets, part wood part fiberglass sub box/trim pieces, this that and the other thing. It's not something he can pull out on a whim, know what I mean? It's a big time install.

Oh. Still doubt that will add two seconds.

True, it wont add 2 seconds, but It'll sure as hell keep him well out of the 12's. And damnit, stop calling me hammerhead

Re: ET's for 99 Si with Greddy turbo w/intercooler?
Actually 12's is close to the mark. Theres a guy who has the same set up here in Louisville. 99/00 Si with greddy on 7-9PSI ran 8.1 in the 1/8th = 12.8ish on slicks. We've all been very amazed and impressed with his car.

It's not to you, it's to all the people thinking just cause he has a system he's going to run 15s.
If he can truly drive, then he can hit 12s no problems(with a nice rim/tire combo). With the 17 inch rims, I'm sure you can still hit low 13s.
Then again I dont know the size of the turbo. What size does GReddy offer for the B16?
