erratic idle b16 coupe
ok so i have an erratic idle once my car is warmed up and im stumped on what to check now besides the cost of new parts. car idles at about 1500-2k on cold start up, but as soon as the car warms up, the idle bounces from 800-2100. i have cleaned the IACV and adjusted the FITV and am stumped. should i look into replacing the TB or is there something else i can try. i have also adjusted the idle screw valve (screw on the top of the TB) and nothing.
cliffs:
erratic idle
IACV cleaned
FITV cleaned and tightened

ok problem with the iacv. the intake manifold is from an obd2 b16 and the iacv i got was from an obd1 ls, so the top hole lined up , but the second did not...should i look for a good one from a obd2 mani or just rock one bolt?

Re: erratic idle b16 coupe
cleaned and replaced the iacv and the fitv twice and the idle got worse after getting another iacv from the junkyard. gonna take it back next week. but also, with the iacv unplugged the idle should drop to like ~500 right? well my car idles at 1500 unplugged and the idle screw (on the tb) wont adjust either way, so im gonna look into a new tb and go from there. any other suggestions?

Re: erratic idle b16 coupe
ok so this really has me stumped. i changed the IACV again, with a known working one, changed the ls TB i was using for a gsr TB with working TPS. got a new map sensor and got a hold of a virgin p72. hooked everything back up and the idle fluctuation actually got worse. cold idle was 3500 and then bounced from 1500-2700. put the chipped p72 in and the idle went back to bouncing from 8-2200.
here's the kicker(s):
-with the car running and IACV unplugged the car held a pretty steady idle at 1k
-with the IACV unplugged, we unplugged the map sensor...car held the same idle
-with the IACV and map unplugged we unplugged the TPS...car went down to 800
-with the IACV hooked up and TPS/map switched (purposely) the car still ran and held an idle of 1k
my next course of action (today actually) is:
check wiring harness
swap IM
can anyone shed some light on what i may be overlooking?
