Default Enigne started gettin bad gas mileage.....

Ok I got around 98k on my '93 d16z6 sol, Im gettin the timing belt replaced in mid december when school gets out. Besides that, My gas mileage went from 28 mpg to a weak 23 mpg in almost 3 tankfuls, any idea whats made it so bad? I bought a strong fuel injector gas treatment and put it in last tankful, but I dont think those are worth that much compared to gettin a mechanic shop to clean your injectors.

Anyways just seein if anyone had something like this happen before.

Lata.

Gas treatment, tune-up, reset you ECU, it will be above previous. Enough said.

I don't know where "Nowhere, Oklahoma" is, but in many places in the country, oxygenated fuels (oxy fuels) are mandated for use in the winter months.

In the Phoenix area, from the first day in October to the last day in February, our fuel must contain a minimum 2.7% oxygen content by weight. This is achieved by adding ethanol or MTBE to the gasoline. For the past 10 years, more than 99% of the oxygenated fuel dispensed locally has contained ethanol, rather than MTBE. The problem is, oxygenated fuel containing ethanol costs more, decreases gas mileage by 10-15% and damages vehicle components.

So, if I was to guess, I would say this is probably why your gas mileage has dropped recently, not any problem with your car...
