Engine Swap Questions
Can someone break this down for me. I am trying to figure out which way to go. Now i have heard that if you want power a b18c5 type r motor is not the way to go because of price. How about H22 Turbo? Whats the pros and cons of that and how much would it cost you think? Im also comparing it to a gsr turbo setup. Thanks!

Re: Engine Swap Questions
yea the b16c5 is alot of money but its simplier to swap in than h22
b16c5 pros
better traction
easier wiring
more horspower
lighter motor
more realiable
more interchangable parts with other b series
h22
pros
more torque
higher displacement motor and dohc vtec so beter for boost
cheaper pricing you can actually find one for under a grand
easy to find
b18c5
well i dont see any cons in swapping that motor but the price tag
h22
cons
with an h22 ur gonna need a serious suspenion or ur not gripping
theres more but thats were im starting off at

Re: Engine Swap Questions
if your looking to spend the kind of money it would cost to turbo a reliable GSR or H22 motor i think the K20 swap would be better for you. Otherwise if your not interested in a K20 then the turbo'd GSR would be far better than the H22 imo. of course this also depends on what your plans for the car are aswell but for a reliable daily driven car the K20 is the way to go if you have the money.
I believe a complete K20 swap is anywhere from 5k-7k at this time depending on where you get the motor from
