i have a 93 del sol si canada version , it came stock with a 1.6L sohc non vtec , now i want to know if i put a d15b vtec is it a direct swap ex: axcels and tranny fit , will i have to wire a ecu ? and i also would like to know am i losen power with this swap even though i`m going vtec ? info please

it should fit right in it its obd1 obd0 ones come with cable trannys, dizzy, ect. and the only thing you need to do is get a ecu and wire the vtec.

would i be better to go with a jd zc sohc vtec instead i`m gonna get one of the two i just want to know witch one would be better ex more hp, and easyer swap

D-series is a d series. In stock form they're going to be the same level of slow.

I thought the si del sol came with the vtec d16z and the S had the non vtec, of course there was the vtec labeled del sol that that came with the b16. In that year of car the valve cover will not be labeled vtec. Dead give away are the spark plug wires on the front of the valve cover and the oil fill hole on the right rear corner of the cover?(when looking at the front of the motor) if so you have the d16z.

As instructor said, if you've got a 93 Delsol Si, you riding a D16Z6 SOHC Vtec.

A few other things I forgot to mention. 1: there will be a stamp on the engine block about 1/2 way down the block right where the trans bolts up( you might have to degrease this area to read it. it should have the marking D16Z stamped in it.
2: look for the vtec solenoid in the rear left hand corner of the valve cover

well the pic in my last intry is the same as what you should me so i believe it would be a d16z6 but i`ll check the stamp its just cause the car is an si but its not marked and if its v-tec well i didnt know , lol its my first honda . but i thank you alot and now i`ll try to find a new motor

If that motor is in good cond, just boost it.

why are you going to change it you have a vtec motor.

I have to change it cause i lost my oil pan bolt and it seased my motor so now i have no choice it came out while i was doing about 180km down the high way , and the real bitch about it is that i only had 156000 km on it, now i am looking for a good swap with out paying a whole **** load. any sujestions on what i should do and not have to pay a whoel bunch???? i`m open to anything just dont have the cash to pay for it lol
