Default engine ID,HELP PLEASE

I have a 92 civic dx with a 1.5l 16v.What series of engine is this?B?D? please help it just blew the head gasket and radiator.I can get a brand new B series head for about 100 bucks.But I don't want to buy it if it not what I need.PLEASE HELP!

it's a D series, most likely a D15B7.

You can;t put a B series head on a D series block.

You don't need a new head if it isn't cracked, the head and maybe the block have to be resurfaced at a qualified machine shop. For what a used D series engine goes at a salvage yard that would be a total waste of money.

It's a D-series. Probably a D15B7, the stock engine.

Look on the front of the block, to the passenger side of the header. You'll find a flat surface angeled up toward you that has the engine code stamped on it. There might be dirt on this flat surface. Clean it off and you'll see it.
