Emission Canister? Smog Fails...
Yo everyone,
Im in the process of reverting my exhaust setup back to stock. I already have all the parts I need but before choosing to do this, I had been running my car very rich for about 1.5 yr. Therefore, all this black soot ended up all over the cat, exhaust, etc. My emission canister is more than likely filled with that soot.
Will the current state of my emissions canister make me still fail smog? Im changing the exhaust system/fuel system to stock because I cannot pass smog. Im in Cali btw, so CARBs a bitch.
Thanks in advance.

The emissions canister (I'm assuming the charcoal canister) is used to hold fuel vapor from your gas tank. It's not filled with soot, so no worries there.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have the replacement catalytic waiting to be installed. I am just avoiding having that one go bad if that "charcoal" canister(thnx EE_Chris) is an issue. Guess Im good.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
