EM1 factory rear subframe reinforcement - yes/no?
I'd like to add an Si rear sway to my 00 DX HB, but I'm wondering if this is safe. Some people say that the Si rear subframe is factory reinforced, while others say it's not. Anybody know for certain?

You'll be fine with the oem 13mm rear sway bar...no worries.
Just be sure that your lower control arms have the little holes for the endlink attachment. My buddy's dx hatch has them.

prolly the same reason the rest of us do it.
$40(what it cost me for the gsr control arms and sway bar) vs. $300+ for brace and 22mm bar.
Unless ur doing some really really agressive driving or autocrossing, i see no point in that thick of a bar for just an agressive street car. But i'll get a bigger bar later on.

It's just a DD, might drive it hard sometimes, but won't be racing it. I had a prelude before this car, but I didn't get to drive it a lot, it sat in the driveway and cost me money. Plus it was already so nice I didn't want to mod it, and that takes away a lot of the fun. I sold it and bought the EK to mess around with on the cheap.
The lack of sways bugs me though, so I was thinking of converting to an all Si setup, or an EX front Si rear (cheaper and slightly less understeer, right)? Thanks for the info guys.

the 13mm does not suck. My EK had a stock suspension and stock 22mm front sway bar. I actually felt the difference backing out the driveway, i **** you not. it makes the car feel as if its pivoting a bit closer to the center of the car, its a wierd feeling.
99-00 Si has the same rear LCAs and rear subframe, so no reinforcement is needed. Why do people do it? I got mine with endlinks for 30$. Thats why.
