Default ELD problem, code 20

Yes...I've searched.

Car---1993 honda civic SI
Motor---JDM b16a
ECU- JDM p30 all stock

-Checked Every since fuse in the car
-Brand New Odyessey p680 battery
-ALL grounds have been cleaned to bare metal
-Alternator tested good from autozone and Advanced auto.

This started becuase I tucked my fuse box inside the car, behind the dash.

I am getting a code 20 which is ELD, so the problem and what I dont understand is that my car does NOT even have a ELD plug in the engine bay fuse box. It does not Exist at all There is 4 main plugs that go to the underside of the black fuse box. My engine/cabin harness only has 4 plugs, nothing has ever been cut or be tampered with. So its like that cause even the fuse box doesnt have the plug for it. I did NOT undertand why I was getting this code without not having a ELD plug or sensor. So i pulled the engine bay fuse box out of my stock 94 del sol and it has 5 plugs on the buttom which means this car has a ELD sensor. So why is my car not equipped with one from factory and how do I get rid of it without Chipping the ECU. In the hanes manual it just explains what to test and what to do if you have the ELD sensor in the fuse box.

I would think that the fix is to replace the under-hood fuse box with one that has an ELD.

I did which this and it failed. I pulled the one out of my del sol that had a ELD sensor in teh fuse box and placed it into my car. The problem is my car was not equipped with the plug or the sensor at all. So switching the fuse box didnt do anything except for having a ELD sensor there but is no plug to plug in cause a 93 civic SI doesnt have one. WTF

you know that your ecu will has an eld, its on the lower right hand corner, you cant miss it. you should talk to one of your buddies and see if you can swap ecus to see if this fix's the problem. let us know how it goes. if its the one on the ecu, let me know, i believe i have a few spare laying around here.

i have my camera packe up so i cant take a pic. but look at the first pic in the link. it is a close up of an ecu, the way it is in the pic, the plugs on the harness are to your left and he is showing a picture of the lower right corner, the eld is the part labeled "D Is168" if you look at it in an angle you will see that it has a see-through cover and you can see several spheres inside. my suggestion is dont even bother to open you ecu case, just swap out the ecus with a bud and see if it resolves your issue.

whoops heres that link: http://home.comcast.net/~keebler65/honda/uberdata.html
