Need ECU Help With D16Y8 Swapped EG Hatch
Before anybody flames me, I did indeed search the forums, and i found nothing helpful to my situation.
About 2 months ago, I bought my little bro a 94 hatch with a D16Y8 swap, with a Skunk2 Pro Series Intake Manifold, and HPR Exhaust Manifold (Header) and when we went to go see it before we bought, the owner (Master Mechanic for Toyota in Roanoke, ppfftt!) said it idled funny because of the tune, and I couldnt convince my bro to wait for another deal, so we bought. well, today, after thinking about the car while my bro let it run for a while, i kept hearing that funny idle, and thought, why tune it, if its still pretty basic? so i began to think of all possible reasons for the idle, thinking that the "tune" was BS. I thought about whether or not they were smart enough to swap the ECU from d15b2 to d16y8. i went out to check it out, only to find -bam!- they left the D15B2 ECU in there. i went to my EJ8, and snagged the P2P ECU from that, only to find that it couldnt be plugged right in (i completely forgot about the whole OBD1/OBD2 thing, lol).
Now my questions are: where can i find some sort of conversion harness and P2P ECU?
And is there anything i need to do to the car to make it run properly when the Y8 ECU is plugged in and all that, such as timing or anything?
thanks for the help

'92 - '95 civics didn't come with D15B2s (not in the US anyway, IIRC some European countries did use them) It should have had either a D15B8, D15B7 or a D16Z6 depending on the trim level (most likely one of first 2)
Conversion harnesses are readily available, but its not going to help you much, i'll explain why below.
You will need to add a secondary O2 sensor (and manually wire it in all the way back to the ECU) You will also need to either wire the CKF sensor or preform the CKF sensor, and finally some, possibly all (info on this is kind of hazy) '96 - '00 EXs came with a fuel pressure sensor in the fuel tank that requires you to swap the gas tank to prevent a CEL (no one seems to have figured out how to get around that one yet). You best bet is to pick up a P28 from an EX/Si and have it chipped and tuned on a dyno.

i ran a p28 for my y8 in my 95 coupe for 8 months without problems. the idle thing you are meaning its reving up and down from like 1000 to 1500? most likely the Idle Vacuum air control valve that needs to be cleaned.
