You know...i think it's pretty much common knowledge around here how a swap is done. I have never seen a complete how to on here with pics. If you find one let me know. Also...bump for you.

Re: EK Swap??? (DANgerous)
It might be common knowledge, but wiring is not. Not to mention, I've seen detailed shock & spring installations w/ pics. Now that is basic.
Thanks for the bump

Re: EK Swap??? (98JDM_Type_R)
i did all the work myself its very straight forward. the wiring matches up besides a few changes u need to make. u need to run vtec wires, old primary o2 sensor, for mine i needed to change the plugs for iacv i believe and a few others. all the info is in the archives. the new shocks and springs go on the exact way the old ones came off. but u do need a shock compressor for that and be very careful......

IAVC???
I've put in a couple of motors in the past, but never done anything with wiring. Anyone know anything about a crank position sensor? I'm putting a OBD1 motor into my EK.

Re: EK Swap??? (DANgerous)
Well if anyone is in the Southbay, and wants to take pics. I'm going to be doing my swap this Saturday, and is more than welcome to come over for a couple of brews. I'll try and detail as much as possible.

Re: EK Swap??? (98JDM_Type_R)
Get a helms.
As for general steps it's really straight forward. Releave fuel pressure, drain fluids, unhook electrical clips, unhook all hoses connecting car to engine, mount engine to hoist chain, undo mounts, and lift. That's about it at its most basic, of course you'll run into your own problems, but hey.... doesnt everyone? Reinstall is pretty much the removal backwards.

Re: EK Swap??? (spyderracing32)
I know how to pull out a motor, and install. My problems comes with wiring.
Ex:
Wiring Vtec
Repinning the distributor
Wiring the knock sensor
Extending the O2 sensor
and other misc wiring complications that I might run into.
