Bolt on strut bars are mostly for looks. The only ones that even barely stiffen the chassis are the ones that fit REAL tight before the bolts mount them to the shock towers. Some of the good JDM bars, you have to jack the car up to get it to slip onto the bolts. IMO, any bar that just bolts to the top bolts of your struts, is a dress-up piece.

The hell it is!
I HAD a spoon bar and its practically the same bar that you find on ebay for $5 (Which I know because I have one for my rear upper).
The Spoon bar is a giant waste of money, not only from the simple fact that its Spoon, but because it has pivot points.
I "downgraded" to an oem si/gsr bar and Im happy with the indifference it made over not only the spoon bar itself, but from lack of having a bar at all.
At least I traded up with the bar (spoon bar for edm ek clock)
Strut bars dont do much of anything and are almost all hype

Re: EK strut bar help (pdiggitydogg)
i kinda agree as my spoon strut came few days ago. lookin at it i was very dissapointed as it seems just like a dress up piece. cant see how its gonna be better than oem strut and half decent ebay 1.
pdogg, cant beleive you traded spoon strut for edm ek clock. id have traded you 3 clocks for it and i aint jokin

psh, I was happy and I still think it was a good deal. Though I wouldve liked to trade w/ you for 3!
Since I got the si bar for free, it didnt matter what I did with the spoon bar.

Re: EK strut bar help (SRCivic97)
i have both carbing and the gsr strut bar on. the 2pt carbing strut bar is a good strut bar because i had to jack up the car to slip it on the bolts. the gsr strut bar i had to drill holes. but the 2pt i feel is better because it goes on the struts rather than the chassis

w0rd.
imo, just buy an ebay strut bar if you want one. i got my (lower rear) for 15$ shipped by watching for em. i havent gotten a chance to install it yet, but i agree with others that a bar is a bar.
unless the bar brakes, its fine. pay more attention to the way it mounts more than anything i think.
