edit: awesome quality videos btw. Keep it going. This is a different style of build threads and hopefully others are capable of doing the same.

Well...they will be on hiatus...chinese new year...sorry bud...
Hey man as long as your videos are HD/HQ I'm fine with it. I just get sick and tired of people posting videos like they used and old school camcorder. Freakin 2017....

Interesting, I've never had that problem when removing the subframe. Was it rusted to ****?
I just finished up on my sisters db7 on all bushings, can't wait to take it out on for a spin.
Yes the proportion valve is needed.
Gather the cost of rebuilding (oem vs aftermarket rebuild) vs buying from rockauto. Do you have time to do the rebuild?

I rebuilt my calipers and I'm totally incompetent. That being said, it's not the easiest process in the world. Getting the piston seals correct is kind of a PITA. But, if you've the time and it saves money, do it. It's kind of fun to learn.

I had the lca's pressed out by a shop, but I started taking care of the bushings myself with a balljoint kit from Autozone. I needed some washers and some deep sockets and I was on the way to pressing my own bushings. I'll need to size up the lca bushings so I can try them out when I start on my own civic. It was a good feeling to do it myself. Man this db7 gonna feel real nice on the road.

I rebuild the caliper on my 98 civic sedan with OEM kit. Pretty pleased with it. Not very hard. I used those stirring stick u get at starbuck to push the seal down into the groove. Have a sanding wheel around help quite a bit. The piston had rust build up around the base of the seal. Cleaning those rust up is much easier with a sanding wheel. I didn't fully disassemble the caliper. Only the piston and the wire ring that hold the seal in. Then I clean out the inside of the caliper, then shove some rag inside it. While I clean, with a wire brush, the body. Air blow the rust off. Then put everything back. No more leak. Brakes is nice and firm.
Good luck with your project. I do enjoy the vids. Keep up the good work.

Cool shots. There's a photography thread in GDD if you're into photography. Be forewarned, though. GDD is not for people with thin skin.

Re: EK Hatch Project Build - Stauffer Garage
Good news is I have been busy breaking down the Integra further and have the entire interior pulled. Every nut, bolt, wire is removed and now the exterior is getting the same treatment. There is so much money in individual parts on ebay... its crazy. Last night while trying to drop the entire subframe with front suspension, I shattered a 19mm socket with a 5ft breaker bar... so an impact socket is necessary when I go back to battle with the undercarriage. The plan is to swap over all of the integra suspension, knuckles, brakes and subframe (utilize GSR sway, steering rack converted to manual and the T-bracket) which will work perfectly if I can get the PIC bushing set. I'll be restoring the suspension components with those bushings, fresh coat of paint prior to reinstalling so they are just like new when they go on the civic hatch.
I've heard multiple responses on the necessity but I need some advice on rebuilding the GSR calipers or just buying new from Rockauto and sending the old ones in as cores. Thoughts? Also, the brake master cylinder, booster will need to be swapped over and I am curious if the distribution block from the civic DX will work or the GSR...

Also note, somewhere in the 96-00 the brake systems changed up: the Master Cylinder went from angled mounting points to horizontal AND the Pro Valve went from an "I" to a "K" style.
