Default EK cluster removal

i just purchased a SI cluster for my DX, but when i go to detach the upper right hand side screw of the cluster "cover" thingy, it just keeps spinning. I went to Kragen, and the guy there told me to get some luberacant, and spray it up there, and it should slip right out, but it just keeps spinning. The screw isnt stripped or anything, can someone give me some suggestions on getting this thing out? Thanks

maybe the screw is off already. Hold the top with two hand and yank it out. Ohh yeah, there's two clip on the bottom. Remove that first and slow yank the top out. good luck

It takes a good yank if you have all the screws out, that's what we had to do to mine to get that damn thing out. Once you get past that, it's a walk in the park. Just be careful.

Just give pressure (pull the cluster) while you unscrew. It should come out.

So the screw where the cluster attaches to the plastic bracket free spins?
