So? You only need to know what wire is what.

if you have an sir clock, it should not have a dimmer function, as SIR's did not dim.

"SiR" is a bad term to throw around since it stands for so many different '96-'00 Civics in so many different countries.

More than likely there is at least one SiR in one country that did have a dimmer.

Either way, the clocks I've seen come with that pin. It's just easier to make them all with it than to make two versions of the clock. Sort of like how my '88 HF is supposedly wired for a stock clock even though the HF didn't come with one (other trims did though) or how '92 Civics (so I hear) are pre-wired for VTEC even if they're not a trim that had it.

Oh, and if you can match the chart I had in the other thread to which corners you use, could you please let me know so I could include that info since not having a plug seems semi-common?

so hopefully this helps a few people since i didn't get no answer on line i did my own "plug" or "harness" i had a spare dash harness from an old dash so i de-pinned some wire with pins and searched for a pic of the plug (blue plug ) and i just followed the same chart NOFX had posted before , i wired it to stereo harness and there you go a working clock , i put some glue on the plugs so they won't come out or make contact with each other , sorry for the crappy cell pix

You can't order stuff like this thread Honda of America though. You'd have to get it from Europe and it'd be REALLY pricey through Honda (~$270-$460, I'm assuming this depends on color).

Buying from Europe also means you need to pay shipping and customs charges. Plus it will not be here by Christmas.

As far as I know, no other retailer lists this clock for sale because the part is just not that high in supply and demand. You just have to wait until a private seller or eBay shop puts one up for sale.

Ouch! I got mine for free (gift from my friend who was no longer using his in Holland). I remember when they were commonly about $60 to get one.

Remember there are different colors too (amber, green and I think white iirc).

Yep - CANADA!

EL clock is amber and you can actually retrofit the guts of it into a 5G Civic clock. Haven't tested or tried on a 6G.

I can tell you that the EK clock being talked about fits in the 1996-1998 Civic dash perfectly. The matte black bezel you see around it when mounted it actually part of the dash.

It sucks that in the US the radio is the only source of a clock... until you replace the radio with one that doesn't have a clock, but I personally enjoy parts that fit 100% perfectly, like they were made for the car.

Remove the center climate control bezel (the entire black thing that surrounds the radio and climate control and all). I don't remember the last time I had to get that out, but you might need to remove the radio to unbolt things, plus the panel under the dash/behind the cupholders. There's a screw behind the defrost button up top (pop it out GENTLY with a flathead - these buttons will easily chip) and another screw behind the emergency flasher button (remove it the same gentle way).

This entire thing should come out:

Remove the cubby from the passenger side of the bezel. Btw, the cubby is different from the EX versus the lower trims such as the CX with no radio. The EX iirc, has the two little holes where the radio would clip onto the cubby. The pic above is from a model with the factory radio because you can see the holes in the cubby. This is what I remember from my '98 EX and my friend's '97 CX at least.

The clock mounts with a screw in either side from the back of the climate control.

Pic of one installed:

Just wire it in as described elsewhere and you should be good. I'd recommend making sure the one you buy has the pigtail. I'm not sure if anything else uses this same plug.
