92 si b&m shifter droping down

Default 92 si b&m shifter droping down

hi i have a question i have a 92 si hb with a b&M shifter the one that has the blue Anadized collar the actual shifter has droped down i can still drive the car but the bottom of shifter is resting on the exhaust and has came out of the blue collar what has caused this and how do i fix it? thanks for any input

get underneath the car and see what happened to the linkage support

there are two bolts and a bushing

the rubber support that bolts to the chassis probably broke or the bolts popped through it...

dude i just had this same problem with mine. there is a thin coil washer looking thing that sits in a groove at the base of the shifter that bent out of shape. i went to lowes and bought a snap ring been good ever since. that was like a month back.

this has to b the problem so its a snap ring sounds right because all of the bolts related to the shifter r there and are tight i have a 89 boosted b17a1 n a rex so i know pretty much how to work on the cars but never have come across this prob is why i asked thanks to the people that has tried to give advice thank you if i could fig out how to post pics to this i would put some up i will look for the correct place to talk bout that peace

yeah, your bushings can be bad too....do what First.EG said, i'm gonna try it as well since i'm having a little bit of vertical movement with my shifter.

yeah i know what is under the car i just never have had a b&m race shifter have this prob is why i asked thanks anyway

hey thanks for the heads up i have had this shifter for a couple years in my crx but i made a custom one for the rex and put this in my si the bushings are all new when i put this shifter in car it has to have been a snap ring that has broken

i think the No. 7 is what's messed up in your linkage...

b&m part#45074 is the shifter that i am talking about if i knew how to post the pic of it i would the blue collar holds the shifter up and has the bearings in it with a snap ring that holds the shifter up the snap ring broke on mine thank goodness i own a machine shop we have them all over shop thanks for the input guys i just never knew it was held in there by a snap ring
