Default ek civic power windows

is it just me and my bad luck or has anyone else ever experienced trouble with their drivers side power window on a 96-00 civic. its a pain in the *** and this is the second time i have had to go to honda to get the damn thing fixed (would not roll up - rained on the way up to honda )

has happened once or twice. it's always been after the window starts sticking in the seal. lube the seal so they go up nice and smooth, never happen again.

btw. what did they replace/fix so I know whether or not we're talking about the same problem.

SAME thing happend to me!

I'm going to take it to the dealer so they can fix it.

do you know how much they charge?

damn, i threw the recipt out the other day, it is under warranty so no charge to me. but i know that the window was off the sliding track, so they fixed that the first time, the last and hopefully final time they replaced the rubber seals and the arm that pushes the window up. i think thats all they did and so far no problems (knock on wood)

keep the window tracks lubed with silicon spray.

just make sure you get the "wet" silicone spray. and do it before you wash the car.....

yeah, i have a 95 ex. window works, but it's slow and weak as hell. i went out friday night and i was putting up my window and it just stopped. i was like what the ****. i finally got it up. my friend was laughing at me. i think im just going to switch my passenger and driver windows

i use silicone spray and that **** works wonders for maybe 3 weeks. It happens to older rubber in the doors.

I think you are better off with a manual window, that way it will roll up to your pace, and wouldnt have to rely on the motor

There's been a known problem with the run channel that the window slides in. There is an active service bulletin that applies to 96 through 00 year models.

The corrective action is/was to replace the regulator and/or run channel.

i have the same problem with the opposite window - my passenger side window won't roll down but my driver side window works. i'll probably have honda look at it once i have the $$/hour to fork out
