Eglass: Milano Red Del Sol Build Thread
This is my 1997 del sol s. i picked it up in may with only 73xxx miles on it. i have not don a build thread before so this is my first shot.
Exterior:
-15 in Drag Dr31 wheels: black with polished lip
-195/55/15 toyo extenza HP tires
-35% tint front, 15 rears and wind shield
Interior:
-LED lighting (dome, trunk, license plate and the light in the storage compartment by shifter are white, the cluster and climate control is amber for now along with hazard and defrost switch).
-Redline Goods Faux Alcantara shift boot and e brake cover, black with red stitch.
-Ricks Team Voodoo shift **** (love it)
-JVC head unit with aux cable ran from the back of the unit to the cup holder center console.
-targa top recovered in black suede to match parking break cover and shift boot
Engine:
-Completely Stock motor (d16y7)
-5 speed
-BWR test pipe matted to a Top Fuel Z100 exhaust (test pipe needed to make up the difference for the cat being integrated in the manifold)
Suspension:
Completely stock
Here are some pics: Let me know what you think/thoughts/suggestions
when i got it:
As it sits now:
My plans for the winter are to do a motor swap. I have it down between a b16a and a b18b. I would love to have the b16a, but i have had a boosted b18b before in my integra and loved the torque. i am leaning that way because I have plans to build a turbo set up. thanks guys!

The mud guards are a nice touch; I've always been a sucker for oem accessories. What wheels were those in the first picture?

Re: Eglass: Milano Red Del Sol Build Thread
so i have some updates to bring this thread back to life. I have spent the past few months ordering and collecting parts for my del sol.
I have ordered and assembled my B&M SS with ES bushings on a new set of linkages so those are ready to go.
I bought an extra VC and sent it out to be powder coated, here are pics!
I also got the PWJDM washers for the vc because the old ones just don't look great with the new color.
I have a downstar inc. chassis bolt kit. I soon plan to order the engine kit as well as a s2k CMC with spacer and tucked line.
I found out that my y8 IM was from a 99-00 so it had the air injection holes. So i drilled and taped those and used set screws with thread lock to plug.
and the top port here i am just going to use a vacuum cap to plug.
I also have ordered and im waiting to get a polished cabin bar with harness holders that will be awesome, and a set of blastgarage (teamsolcal) door wrinkle covers. here is his picture, so give credit to him!
I still have more to order: ngk wires, radiator, fan, hoses to start. Header and a magnaflow cat next.
I am keeping the car obd2, for now. Once i get some other projects done i want to upgrade to an edelbrock IM and convert to obd1, but that's next year most likely.

yep the install is pretty straight forward. the only thing i anticipate having trouble with is actually getting the door panel off. i tried to take them off once before and i couldnt get the lock rods off the lock handle, so need to figure that out. i think they are one of the best products out for the del sol right now.

Re: Eglass: Milano Red Del Sol Build Thread
how much did they charge for powder coat if you mind me asking? I like how they left the Honda letters unpowder coated. Are you not doing the B series swap and sticking with the D -saw you were talking about a swap?

Re: Eglass: Milano Red Del Sol Build Thread
i paid 65 (powder coating and shipping from them to me) and then 20 bucks to ship out to them. so total of 85. i think that's a steal for powdercoating because places local quoted me $150 plus and i even had one place say $300 plus! i was determined to find a better deal
