eg trailing arm bushing help..
hello ht peeps..this is the problem: everytime i drive over small bumps and the car bounces, it makes a squeeky noise, really annoying. So i jack up my car...
and push the rim up and down, in and out... and it seems like the noise is coming from this bushing (in the pic below)....
so how much would it cost to change out this bushing.
and how much (what kinda) labor is involved in changing this out?!
...one more thing..it squeeks in the front too, which bushing could it be?
thankz in advance for any help...

Damn, the trailing arm bushing will need to be pressed out. The cheapest way would be to take off your trailing arm yourself and bring it to a shop with a press, and have them press your new one in. Even then, they'll probably charge you like $50 to do it. Bastards.

A temporary fix I would try: Go get some white lithium grease and spray the crap out of that bushing and let it soak in, then spray the crap out of it again. That might help.

Back when I had drum brakes, my rear would "thud" rather than squeak, over bumps.
When I changed to discs, I replaced the rear bushing with Mugen peices (king motorsports has them). The "thudding" stopped.
This bushing does NOT need to be pressed in or out. All you need to do, is remove the entire arm, and hit it out with a hammer (evenly walk around the rim of the bushing). Same goes for the new one, just take your time, and be sure its level. Took me 30mins and $0 - shop wanted $80.

Sorry for the wrong info, blackeg6.

Yeah, hit it out with a hammer, that's what i did to my TR bushings. Also, hammer in the new TR bushing. Just make sure you got it right while u are installing the bushing. if you bring to shop, it would cost you a lot of labor.
Using the hydrulic press is much easier, moreover, if you installing a Pillow Ball trailing arm bushing, you MUST use the hydrulic press to install. HARDRACE have pretty good reinforced Rubber bushing and the pillow ball trailing arm bushings.
