eg smokes dark grey then steady light grey when getting on it
my coupe smokes when getting on it. starts out with a puff of dark greyish then a steady flow of light grey. i know my headgasket needs done gettin that on payday and ran through basic test to check for causes of running rich. fixed an exhaust leak at header where it was missing a few nuts, cleaned throttle body and sealed off all vacuum hoses real good. it helped it and made the smoke a lighter color but its still there.. any idea what else could cause it?? heres a lil info
d15z6 minime with intake header and exhaust
stock p28 ecu
believe ls throttle body (just cleaned it)
old motor in car burnt oil. same head from that motor is on the b7 block and exhaust from downpipe back is same.

Does the CEL work? Get the head gasket replaced ASAP and be sure to have the head milled level.
Did you install a new gasket for the header?
Any performance problems? How old are the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor? Is the ignition timing set to spec? Is the engine running cold?

cel does work, all timing is set to spec as far as last i checked. engine doesnt run cold. spark plugs are a lil coolant and fuel fouled but nothing major. and cap and rotor appear fine. any signs of a bad one? and head is getting milled flush by a trusted shop next week. gets up and goes just fine still just leaves a little getaway cloud in the process... lol

The coolant and fuel fouled plugs could be the problem.
Check the metal contact points inside the cap and on the rotor for wear and corrosion. Use fine sandpaper to remove corrosion. Replace if worn.
