EG Radio Install Problem
I just put in the new JVC cd deck in my EG after having my Pioneer one get stolen out of it...but when i install the new deck, it seems to slide back out if i shift hard or something...didnt install the Pioneer so i dunno what to or how to screw down this new deck...don't want those ****** to steal this one either. Any tips or help would be appreciated...TIA...did a search, but nothing fancy.

Re: EG Radio Install Problem (civicboisi)
The cage for the radio should hold it in place, if not the only other way is to get some back strap and bolt it down where the factory one did....I don't know what else to tell you.

Did you trim the sides off the OEM location? Like trimming the actual plastic off the sides? All headunits I've installed on EGs fit right in. Some needed some Dremel action on the sides. About 2mm per side to fit perfect and tight. Did the JVC come with the bracket that surrounds the actual headunit?

A couple ideas:
1. Remove the lower console to get underneath the head unit. See if there is any way to screw the head unit to the metal frame that you slide the unit into.
or
2. If your head unit came with a security sleeve, then slide sleeve into dash. Next, insert head unit into security sleeve. The sleeves sometimes have several ways of securing the head unit into the dash.

Re: EG Radio Install Problem (TallAzzFilipino)
yeah the head unit did come with the sleeves, but i think i messed them up already trying to get it to "pinch" the sides of the unit...i'll see if i could screw it from the bottom...didn't get a chance to look at that yet. Thanks guys.
EDIT: No trimming was ever done that i know of...it slides right in, but just doesn't hold in.
