Hey guys I'm having a couple problems with my car its a 1994 civic dx coupe, b20 swap, eg ex wiring harness, gsr dizzy, kenwood headunit, pioneer speakers. I gave all this information because it relevant with what im about to ask. I did my swap and everything else myself besides the interior stuff and wiring(radio, speaker wiring etc.). Well here's the list:

Whenever the battery is connected(ground wire and positive wires on battery) the radio comes on even if the key isnt in the car

When i turn the radio up to a certain volume(idk what it is but whenever its too loud i guess) the radio shuts off

Whenever i turn on the headlights on the radio turns off

No high beams whatsoever

My brake lights don't work at all the tail lights work and the blinkers worked until i took out the hazard switch but not they dont

MAIN PROBLEM: I took out my cluster bezel(the thing that surrounds the center vents and instrument cluster on the eg dash) and the hazard switch to replace my dx cluster with my ex one(for the speedo) when i put everything back together i re-connected the hazard switch and my cluster lit up as if my key was in the on position in the ignition. But my keys were in my lap.... Every time i try to put the hazard switch back it does the same thing. I dont know whats wrong, my battery is low and i know that, but I don't know if that's the problem.

I bought this car as a shell and did the swap and everything but i don't really know anything about electrical stuff, and now i keep finding these electrical gremlins. I dont know what to do so if anybody has any experience or has had any of these problems, reply or PM me please. Thanks guys

I have never heard of any of these. Sounds like you really fubarred your wiring. As for the radio powered on with the battery, you have your constant and switched power backwards.

I don't see how swapping a cluster and removing a hazard switch can cause any of this.

Get yourself a wiring diagram and start tracing wires. If you don't know how to read a diagram, find someone that does.

lol thanks for the input... but idk if i made this clear before.. but i bought it as a shell so all this stuff was wired like this before i bought it... so i hope nobody thinks im a re-re lol....... bump it up still need help

electrical problems are funnnn lol
get yourself a service manual or download one in pdf format.

you will need it.

if the radio was isolated problem then it wold be simple
but it seems like the harness is not properly put together makes everything freak out.

its either shorting out or the constant and ignition are mixed up somewhre

start one component at a time

find the cause.

the lights turning on and stereo constantly on is a symptom.
a cause is a wire that is improperly connected that is making the stereo turn on.

1 start with the stereo pull it out and make sure its connected properly to the wire harness.

take some pictures please one of everything
engine bay fuse box
battery and the shock tower plugs on each side
behind the radio
and underdash

after you do the above 2
visually follow the wire harness around the car(meaning, trace is all the way from begining to an end inch by inch as much as you can, you will find alot of misplaced wires that way.

now if its really ****ered up, see if theres a local pick and pull that has same dash and grab the whole dash and replace it lol.

theres a point where the clusterfaq of wires becomes more pain in the *** then replacing the whole thing.

get more history on what has been done and what the car been through electrically( wiretuck, some crazy pimp my ride audio system etc)

Yeah, you're going to have to check each problem one at a time against a wiring diagram. But just for kicks, check all three engine grounds are connected. Bad grounds cause extra voltage to go the wrong way through the wrong components and weird stuff happens.
