EG GS-R hood clearance issues, can they be fixed/avioded?
i was told by my brother, that a fellow mechanic at the honda-dealership at which he works put a GS-R complete motor swap in his Si and the hodd wouldent close right. the valve cover was touching the hood so he had to force it down.
1- is this true?
2- will a mount kit be able to avoid this?
3- does it just not mater if i would do this and drive with the hood forced down? (im afraid that the motor mount bushings will flex with the motor's torque and kink my hood)

most honda-dealership mechanics r idiots. the hood will close fine even with reuse mounts from the integra. i have several friends with gsr motors in their 5g hatches and coupes and the hood fits fine.

there are about 342431543815934758934758493543 EGs on here with B-series swaps, I'm sure at least half of those are GSRs.
I don't know of any of them that were done correctly (with the right mounts) that have hood clearance issues.
Mine sure doesn't. It is close, but it doesn't rub. the plug wires do though.

the only thing useless is that biased input given by your brother inlaws friend at the dealership
you'll be fine with fitment with any and all bseries/hseries/kseries motors in your hatchback.

My hood closes fine but I've also got a little dent in my hood due from the motor shifting. Atleast it gave me a reason to pick up a carbon fiber hood . No problems since.

Mine caused a slight ding in the hood in a few places due to the motor shifting back and forth. After I got my HASport mounts, and had bodywork done, haven't had any issues.

Dont buy a BKNW c/f hood for it and youll be fine.
BKNW hoods in my experience (3 hoods) seperate at the skeleton and the hood itself causing MASSIVE rub issues.

could always cut away that part of the skeleton...yes it sounds stupid but
or just get the right mounts

Re: EG GS-R hood clearance issues, can they be fixed/avioded? (SnowSurfer)
The only Bseries- hood clearance issue i had was with my crx. And honda had a nifty fix known to us all as the ZC hood.
Outside of that i have never seen a clearance issue on an Eg. My B18 fits just fine, and it was installed by a Honda tech. Are you sure this, "tech" or just a porter?
