I currently have a red 94 cx eg hatchback, and some guy hit me so since the value on cx's are not that much my car is getting totaled....i have a d16z6 and thats about the only thing worth a little bit on the car..i found a red 96 ek hatchback for a good price and I am probably going to buy it with the insurance money, what are the ups/downs from an eg-ek?

Well, the VX is the lightest model that Honda has ever made, seeing as how it was made solely for the purpose of fuel efficiency. The EK might be worth a little more... Other than that, it's up to appearance preference, really. Both have tons of aftermarket support and lots of swap potential. I would think that it's up to you, but I would say, make sure the body's straight and no rust. This'll help you avoid headaches down the road.

what do you mean up and downs? are you planing on transfering the motor over or something? Other then that's it's pretty close to EG, except some parts are just a little bit different, like body (of course), rear engine/tranny mount, obdII oposed to obdI (I hate obdII), rear suspension is slightly different, I think the front is pretty much the same. I don't know what else.

i like both 92-95 & 96-98 hatches. that VX is a really nice project car, but since it's totaled, i'd get that 96-98 (ek) if it's available, but it's OBDII. maybe another 92-95 hatch would be nice too. make sure that EK you are talking about has little or no rust.

pat, you're such a bitch.

sorry to put up a shitty post in your thread, xhatchx. both eg's and ek's are nice (except for 99 hx coupes buhahhaa:p)

eg's are obdI, ek's are obdII. eg's have more swappable parts with its cousins (integra). eg's are lighter. e friggin g.

there are no "ups" and "downs" to either.. its just a matter of personal preferance. now there are differences in models, obviously some have more options.

He has a CX not a VX.

Like everyone else has already said main diff is looks and wiring. EK's are a little bigger than EG's too. I would just get another EG if i were you
