ECU Question. Urgent Help!!! Pictures inside...
what does RP18 stands for?
Would it makes any difference if it says just R18 ?
if so...RP18 and R18 are the same?
The reason I asked because I am doing an auto to manual conversion on my ecu, which is a JDM P30 Auto ECU [ yes, it is an automatic, I know]. Well, most people say to change the RP18 resistor from 2.4k olms to 1.4k olms and so does pgmfi.org. With curiosity, I've opened my ecu and found that there wasn't any RP18, but just found an R18 only with no letter "P". It is located on the little square box that can be detach and open away from the ecu. This is the row that it is in...R1, R2, R3 R17, R18, R19....I am wondering if they are the same so before I start to change the resistor f*&72 up a perfect ecu.
Any reference comments would be appreciated greatly....thanks..
the background of the resistor has a baby blue color. The stripes on it are orange, light red, yellow, dark blue, and dark brown....

don't worry about lowering the resistance, simply remove the RP17 completly. this will remove the check engine light and other auto related issues.

Hopefully he can find it. It is only .25" from RP18. I sent a picture to him via IM. He called me a liar because RP18 isn't on the back side of the PCB....
