ECU help plz
Ok, I just bought a 1996 Honda Civic EX. Engine was rebuild to a 1994 1.6 V-tec.(D16Z6). The car had a Ecu in the trunk and one plugged in. A 95 Ecu and a 96(96 has more pins). The 95 one was the one plugged into my car when i bought it. When the 95 ECU is plugged in it makes my Rpms Go Up and Down.(when i first start it cold in the morning it goes to 1.5 Rpms to 1.8 Rpms over and over. Once i drive for about 2 mins and i hit a stop light it starts to jump Rpms about 1.0 to 2.0 up and down over and over). Once i take off my air fllow sensor still shows its jumping rich to lean like the rpms are jumping but i dont feel it in the gas peddle.
when i plug the 96 ECU in that was in the trunk. it idles ok no jumpping but it chugs like i will be holding gas half way and it like goes and stops then wants to go fast then bogs down again then wants to go but dont.
I am moreless wondering if you guys can guess why one of them are not doing the job right. or if they are not the one for the car and some stuff is messing up. i added some pictures. ask me for more info if i forgot some. thanks for reading this.

Re: ECU help plz
The P2E is a 96+ DX ECU and the P2P is a 96+ EX ECU. So I dont think you have a OBD1 ECU. You have a OBD2 ECU. Get a jumper harness and get a P28 ECU from the 92-95 EX ECU or you can just run your P2P.

Does you car have a manual transmission or an automatic transmission? The P2E that you have is for a manual transmission (and for a completely different engine than what you have), and the P2P that you have is for an automatic transmission. So if you have a manual transmission car, then none of your ECUs are the right one; and you would want to get a '96-'98 (OBD2A) manual transmission P2P or the conversion harness and a P28.
Are you throwing any check engine light codes?

Re: ECU help plz
Yes i am 4 of them. 1509 0135 0140 1337 my car is manual 5 speed. some one told me to go to OBD1 and Go p28 ECU. or if i use the p2p that i can by pass a value or something like that to make it work.
atm i am running the p2e. it runs nice and fast but does high RPM at start and alittle hard to shift into gears since its high Rpming.
