my GUESS is yes. theyre NTC thermistors. they work along the same voltage parameters. Higher temperature = lower resistance. probably a short somewhere. intentionally ground the plug. with key ON the temp gauge should peg hot. if not, its wiring. if grounded the ecu or cluster gauge sees no resistance ( 5V) which will signal a hot condition. hope this helps!

OK I got it, wat i mean to say is how do i hard wire the 2 pin ECT into the harness, for some reason with my modified harness I have no plug for the ECT.
What i think is 1 wire goes D13 ECT sensor on my p13
and the other is ground wire.
If iam right how would i know which wire goes where?
thanks

at the plug that connects to the sensor, ground it there. there are two sensors i believe. one dedicated to the cluster. on the plug, check for voltage. maybe plug is bent?
