Driver side motor mount (Civic)
I need to replace the motor mount in my 2000 civic dx coupe. Its the one that is easiest to get to on the driver side. My question or concern rather is do I need to support my engine on something or lift it in order to replace this motor mount?
I heard something about window weld motor mounts. How exactly does this work?
Kind of a newbie here with changing motor mounts.

If you're talking about the lower mount on the driver's side, then you do not need to support the engine. The one I'm talking about is shown on the left in this picture.
It would not hurt to put a flat board on a jack to support the oil pan but when I changed mine, there was no weight on the jack. In fact, if you raise up the motor too much, you won't have enough room to squeeze the mount in.
It's easy to replace, if you have a deep socket to get the mounting bolt in and out.

All you need is a jack and a piece of wood.
Wood is to spread the load out on the oil pan. Then just simply jack the engine up a little and remove the motor mount.

Is the wood to be place on the ground with the height of where the engine level is at (on the motor mount side of course), and then jack up the engine on that same side a little and rest it back on the wood?
or do the wood go on the opposite side of the engine at engine level to support that way?
Sorry I know its a dumb question. I tried looking up youtube videos for a visual explanation but to no avail.
